1976 | FRACM IS FOUNDED

Our story started in Brescello, in the province of Reggio Emilia, where Fracm still runs its business. Our name comes from the initials of our five founding members: Furlotti, Reggiani, Alberici, Campanini and Magnani.

1980 | A GREAT IDEA

This was the year when Odino Reggiani came up with his first business idea which allowed the company to diversify its production and lower production costs: a manual punching machine.
By using a multi-shaped turret, this machine meant it could work at several stations and allowed punching with holes of different and complex sizes in a single operation.

1981 | NEW MANAGEMENT

1981 is a historic date for the company.

Odino Reggiani purchased a 96% share in Fracm from its members. The remaining 4% stayed with Davide Bacchi who shared the role of director with Odino Reggiani.

This was the start of the success story for Odino and the Reggiani family.

1988 | PAINTING

In 1988, Fracm expanded its production site by building a new plant.

Fracm added a painting facility at this new plant to improve the service and product quality for its customers.

It was one of the first companies in Italy to support the sheet metal processing procedure with a painting service and still today, even after many years, the company keeps believing and investing in this direction.

1999 | IP INDUSTRIE

IP Industrie joined the Fracm group.

IP S.p.A. was founded as a specialist business in refrigerated cabinets for storing and serving wine. It designs and makes the most stylish and suitable solutions to meet a wide range of needs in both catering and the private sector.

Its high-tech service, refined shapes and product quality mean that the IP collection truly embodies Made in Italy all around the world.

2005 | E METALL

In 2005, Fracm added E Metall to its group.

This Slovak sheet metal processing company focusing on the electronics sector was added so it could serve the German and Eastern European markets more easily.

2008 | DIVERSIFICATION

The 2008 crisis, which badly hit all sectors of the economy, did not spare the heating sector.

Up until then Fracm had primarily been aimed at boiler manufacturers, but it tackled this crisis by making brave, far-sighted strategic decisions.

In the meantime Odino Reggiani had been joined at the helm of the business by his sons, Andrea and Alessandro, and decided to diversify its services offered to target a range of customers in different sectors: household appliances, industrial and electrical panels.

This allowed Fracm to keep growing and investing in production and innovative machinery.

2009 | FIBRE OPTIC LASER

While the financial crisis brought most companies in the sector to their knees, Fracm thought of investments for growth and improved production.
In 2009, Fracm was the first company in Italy, and one of the first in Europe, to add a fibre optic laser to its fleet of machines.
It was a success: this laser allowed it to offer a better, safer product based on the concept of “safety first” thanks to the lack of cutting burrs previously left by punching machines.

2010 | MULTINATIONALS

The diversification implemented over previous years, together with the high level of flexibility in production resulting from the use of new and improved material processing technologies available at the new plants added to the company, brought in major Italian and European industrial companies that found Fracm to be a dynamic, young partner with a strong focus on product quality and reliable deliveries.

Thus began a series of challenges and upgrades for the company based on the lean concept of continuous improvement, with constantly lower percentages of waste.

2014 | A NEW PATH

Its president and founder, Odino Reggiani, passed away this year, leaving the future of the company in the hands of his sons, Andrea and Alessandro.

The company’s core values did not change. Innovation and thorough customer service still guide the management’s strategic decisions, although it is proving that it can introduce new far-sighted ideas for the company’s future.

Andrea and Alessandro Reggiani and Davide Bacchi launched a modernisation and optimisation process for production procedures which led to the construction of the new plant.

2017 | EXTENDED MANAGEMENT AND PANTHERA SOFTWARE

The continuous increasing complexity of projects and market demands led Andrea and Alessandro Reggiani to innovate their organisation and IT system as well.

In 2016 and 2017, the offices and management were transformed, introducing new roles and services to support customers and company management. PANTHERA was also added, an advanced piece of ERP software which allowed the company to perfect its production and logistics process by adapting what Fracm offered to customers’ growing needs for assembly kits and Kanban warehouse management.

2019 | THE NEW PLANT

The new management’s young, visionary drive led to the creation of the new production plant.

The 10,000 m2 warehouse, the new paintshop and the subsequent optimisation of costs and processes allowed Fracm to consolidate its leading position on the Italian market and break into foreign markets with unique, innovative processing and services in its sector.
